The Yonex BG65 Titanium (BG65 Ti) is the high-performance, turbocharged sibling of the legendary BG65.

While keeping the same ultra-durable 0.70mm foundation, Yonex added a specialized compound coating to give the string a completely different personality—transforming a soft, long-lasting utility string into a crisp, metallic, hard-feeling power string designed for heavy hitters.

Core Construction & Technology

The "Ti" in the name makes all the difference in how this string behaves on impact:

  1. Compound Titanium Hydride Coating: The entire outer braided layer is coated with a titanium composite. This coating drastically increases the surface rigidity of the string bed, resulting in a much sharper, instantaneous rebound when the shuttle hits the racket.
  2. 0.70 mm High-Intensity Nylon Core: It retains the same thick multifilament core as the standard BG65, ensuring that the string maintains its legendary resistance to snapping and framing.

Playing Characteristics

  1. The Hitting Sound (10/10): If you love a loud, intimidating "ping" when you smash, this is your string. The titanium coating produces one of the sharpest, highest-pitched acoustic cracks in the Yonex lineup.
  2. Feel & Rigidity: Unlike the plush, shock-absorbing feel of standard BG65, BG65 Ti is classified as a Hard string. The string bed feels stiff and solid, giving you immediate, crisp feedback on quick defensive blocks and drives.
  3. Power & Repulsion (8/10): Thanks to the stiff titanium coating, the string has less "dwell time" (the shuttle spends less time on the strings). It snaps back instantly, giving an aggressive boost to raw smash speed and fast baseline-to-baseline clears.
  4. Durability (9/10): It remains incredibly durable, but it sits just a hair below original BG65. Because the titanium coating makes the outer layer more rigid, the strings can friction-wear against each other slightly faster over months of heavy slicing.

Who is it for?

  1. Aggressive Power Players on a Budget: If you want the explosive power and hard feel of a premium tournament string (like BG80) but keep snapping thin strings, BG65 Ti is the perfect compromise.
  2. High-Tension Hitters: It excels when strung at 25 lbs or higher, where the hard titanium coating can really produce that signature metallic snap.

BG65 vs. BG65 Titanium: The Quick Verdict

Think of standard BG65 as a comfortable, soft mattress—forgiving and durable. Think of BG65 Ti as a firm mattress—stiffer, much louder, and built to violently launch the shuttlecock back across the net.
