The Yonex Astrox 99 Game (3rd Generation) is an intermediate power racket designed to deliver the heavy-hitting attack profile of the flagship Astrox 99 Pro in a far more forgiving, arm-friendly package. Built to maximize smash power and shuttle hold, this 3rd Gen edition incorporates updated frame tech to give developing offensive players better energy transfer and steep attack angles.

Performance Profile

The Astrox 99 Game centers on raw smash power, extended shuttle hold, and power assistance.

  1. Power-Assist Bumper & Volume Cut Resin: Features a tungsten-infused weighted bumper strip at the top of the frame. This increases head weight momentum, driving smashes steeply downward, while Volume Cut Resin maintains structural strength without excess bulk.
  2. Expanded Shuttle Hold: Designed with a modified frame profile that flexes slightly inward upon impact. This increases shuttle contact time on the string bed, offering enhanced control and heavy power transfer on overhead clears and smashes.
  3. Forgiving Power via Medium Flex: Unlike the extra-stiff shaft of the Astrox 99 Pro, the Game version uses a Medium flex shaft combined with NANOMESH NEO. This creates a catapult effect, helping players generate depth and speed without needing elite wrist strength.
  4. Rotational Generator System: Features Yonex's signature counterbalanced weight distribution across the frame top, T-joint, and grip end. This minimizes head lag and allows quicker recovery between continuous attacking shots.

Best Suited For

  1. Intermediate & Developing Power Players: Ideal for players looking to transition into an aggressive playing style without straining their arm on an ultra-stiff professional frame.
  2. Rear-Court Singles & Doubles Attackers: Outstanding for backcourt players who rely on steep smashes, heavy drives, and high defensive clears to dictate rally tempo.
  3. Players Needing Extra Flex Assistance: Great for players who want the heavy-head momentum of the Astrox 99 series, but need flex in the shaft to assist with overhead power.
