The Luxilon Element Soft IR 127 is the softest and most comfortable polyester string in the Luxilon lineup. Part of the Element family, which was designed to bridge the gap between multifilaments and traditional polyesters, the Soft IR version pushes that boundary even further. It is engineered with "Multi-Mono" technology—a construction of three spiral fibers within a polymer matrix—to provide a plush, vibration-free experience.

Performance Profile

  1. Extreme Comfort: It is approximately 10% softer than the standard Element 125 and nearly 20% softer than ALU Power Soft. This makes it a "safe" polyester for players who generally find monofilaments too harsh on their joints.
  2. Controlled Power: While softer polyesters can sometimes feel "springy," the Element Soft IR uses its multi-mono core to maintain a degree of crispness. It provides easy depth on groundstrokes without the erratic "trampoline effect" found in some synthetic guts.
  3. Deep Ball Pocketing: The string is highly elastic for a poly, allowing the ball to sink deep into the string bed. This increases "dwell time," giving the player exceptional touch and feel, particularly on volleys and finesse shots.
  4. Round Profile Spin: Being a round string, it relies on its high elasticity and "snap-back" rather than sharp edges to generate spin. It produces a consistent, predictable amount of RPMs that is easy to control.

Best Suited For

  1. Juniors Transitioning to Poly: The "gold standard" starter string for competitive juniors moving away from multifilaments but not yet ready for the stiffness of ALU Power or 4G.
  2. Players with Arm Sensitivities: Ideal for those who have experienced tennis elbow but still want the durability and spin potential of a polyester string.
  3. Control-Frame Users: Pairs exceptionally well with thinner-beamed, flexible racquets (like the Wilson Blade or Prestige) to create a buttery, connected hitting sensation.
  4. Multifilament Breakers: A perfect choice for players who are snapping multifilaments every few hours but find traditional polyesters too painful or "dead."
