The HEAD T.I.P. Orange (Tennis Instruction Program) is HEAD’s Stage 2 beginner tennis ball, designed for kids aged 8 to 10 transitioning to larger courts. Developed in collaboration with the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) "Tennis Play & Stay!" campaign, it is engineered for play on Orange mid-size courts (18 m X 6.4–8.23 m).
Performance Profile
- Compression & Speed: 50% Slower. The pressureless core makes the ball 50% slower than a standard yellow tennis ball, giving developing players extra time to adjust their stance and complete full swing paths.
- Low & Predictable Bounce: Keeps the bounce at waist-to-chest level on mid-sized courts, preventing the ball from jumping over young players' heads.
- Slightly Reduced Size: Slightly larger than a standard ball (and smaller than the Stage 3 Red ball), making contact easier and encouraging better timing.
- High-Visibility Two-Tone Felt: Wrapped in a bright Orange and Yellow two-tone felt that helps kids recognize ball spin, rotation, and flight trajectory early.
