The Head Prestige MP L 2023 is the lightest and most maneuverable model in the Prestige family. It is designed for intermediate-to-advanced players who want the surgical precision and classic feel of a Prestige but in a faster, more explosive package that is easier to swing over a long match.
This model is the evolution of what was previously known as the Prestige S.
Key Technologies
- Auxetic 2.0: This is the core update for the 2023 line. The material is now located in both the yoke and the handle, providing better "feel" and feedback regardless of where you strike the ball on the string bed.
- Box Beam: The square cross-section of the frame provides maximum stability and control, preventing the racquet from twisting during heavy impact.
- Full Cap Grommets: It retains the iconic Prestige grommet system that wraps around the hoop, which aids in vibration dampening and creates a more solid sound at contact.
- Graphene Inside: Positioned to reinforce the frame, allowing for better energy transfer and stability for such a lightweight frame.
Performance Profile
- Speed & Maneuverability: At 300g unstrung, this racquet is much easier to whip through the air than the Pro or Tour models. This makes it excellent for players who rely on quick reaction times at the net or those who like to take a big, fast rip at the ball from the baseline.
- Accessible Control: It offers the "Prestige" level of accuracy but with a slightly larger 99 sq. in. head and a 16x19 string pattern. This provides a more forgiving sweet spot and better access to spin than the denser-patterned models.
- Comfort: With a low-60s stiffness rating, it remains very arm-friendly. It provides a plush, dampened sensation that is typical of the series, reducing the harshness often found in other "light" performance racquets.
- Customization Platform: Because of its lighter starting weight, the MP L is a favorite for players who like to add lead tape to customize the balance and swingweight to their exact preference.
Visual Design
- The MP L shares the same elegant burgundy and black aesthetic as the rest of the 2023 lineup. It features the signature see-through carbon elements in the frame, giving it a high-tech, premium look that looks modern while honoring the line's heritage.
