The Head Gravity Tour 2025 is perhaps the most unique member of the 2025 Gravity lineup. While the Gravity line has traditionally used a 100-square-inch head, the 2025 Tour model has moved to a 98-square-inch head, creating a distinct bridge between the forgiving Gravity series and the surgical precision of the Prestige or Radical lines.
Core Technologies & Design
- Auxetic 2.0: Just like the Pro, the Tour features the second generation of Auxetic material in the yoke and handle. This creates a more "organic" and connected feel, reducing the hollow sensation found in some modern frames.
- New 98sq in Mold: This is the biggest change for 2025. By shrinking the head size from 100 to 98, Head has made the racquet more maneuverable and aerodynamically "faster" through the air.
- Elliptical Beam: The cross-section in the shoulder area is designed to allow more flex at impact, which translates to longer dwell time (the feeling of the ball sitting on the strings).
- Teardrop Head Shape: It retains the iconic Gravity "flipped" teardrop shape, which places the widest part of the racquet higher up. This supports modern players who tend to make contact near the tip of the frame.
On-Court Performance
- The "Spin-Control" Hybrid: Unlike the Gravity Pro (which uses a dense 18x20 pattern for flat hitting), the Tour uses a 16x19 pattern. Combined with the 98-inch head, it offers a higher "launch angle," making it much easier to hit heavy topspin and high-arcing balls.
- Plush Comfort: With a stiffness rating around 58 RA, this is one of the most arm-friendly racquets available. It offers a very soft, "buttery" feel that absorbs vibration effectively.
- Maneuverability: At 305g, it is significantly easier to swing over the course of a long match than the 315g Pro version. It feels "whippy," making it excellent for defensive scrambling or flicking passing shots on the run.
- Stability: For a 305g racquet, it is surprisingly stable. However, compared to the Pro, you may notice slightly more flutter against extremely heavy hitters, which some players address by adding a small amount of lead tape.
Who is it for?
The Gravity Tour 2025 is designed for aggressive tournament players (Level 4.0 - 5.0) who want:
- The thin-beam, flexible feel of a "classic" player's frame.
- More spin and a higher launch angle than the Gravity Pro.
- A slightly more modern, faster-swinging 98-square-inch head.
It is often compared to a "more comfortable, slightly more powerful Wilson Blade." If you found the previous Gravity Tour too "clunky" or the Gravity Pro too demanding, the 2025 Tour is likely your "Goldilocks" racquet.
