The Head Graphene 360+ Extreme MP (released around 2020) is a previous generation of the Extreme series. It is widely regarded as one of the most powerful and spin-friendly versions in the franchise's history, characterized by its "asymmetrical" bright yellow and grey/blue cosmetic.
Compared to the 2024 model, this version has a slightly more "raw" and lively feel, featuring an extremely open string pattern designed for maximum ball bite.
Key Technologies
- Graphene 360+: This combined Head’s signature Graphene 360 (for stability and energy transfer) with Spiralfibers in the lower hoop. The Spiralfibers were designed to stretch and untwist upon impact, providing a cleaner feel and more flex than the standard Graphene 360 version.
- Spin Grommets: Large, funnel-shaped grommets that allow the main strings to move significantly. This enhances the "snap-back" effect, which is critical for generating heavy topspin.
- Dynamic Beam: A cross-section designed to optimize power and stability through the hitting zone.
On-Court Performance
- Spin Potential: This is the hallmark of the 360+ model. The spacing of the strings—particularly in the center—is quite wide, allowing the strings to grab the ball effectively.
- Power: Due to the thick 26mm beam and the Graphene construction, it offers plenty of "easy power." It is more powerful and has a higher launch angle than the current 2024 version.
- Playability: It is very maneuverable at the baseline, making it easy to whip the racquet through the air to create those dipping "heavy" balls.
- Feel: While the Spiralfibers helped, this model still feels quite stiff and crisp. Players who prefer a more dampened or "plush" feel might find the newer Auxetic models more to their liking.
