The Head Extreme MP L 2024 (the "L" standing for Light) is the lightweight version of the standard MP. It is specifically designed for intermediate players, rising juniors, or those who want the massive spin potential of the Extreme line but in a more maneuverable, arm-friendly package.

Like the rest of the 2024 line, it features the neon yellow and light green cosmetic and the updated Auxetic 2.0 technology.

Key Technologies

  1. Auxetic 2.0: Located in the yoke and handle, this technology provides a "super-connected" feel. It helps the racquet feel more stable than its light weight would suggest, dampening harsh vibrations on off-center hits.
  2. Spin Grommets: Oversized funnel grommets that allow the main strings to move more freely in all directions. This increases the "snap-back" effect, which is the engine behind the racquet’s spin generation.
  3. Spin Shaft: A specialized shaft geometry that optimizes lateral stability, making it easier to "rip" through the ball for heavy topspin.
  4. Sound Grommets: Optimized string movement that enhances the sound and vibration profile, leading to a more "solid" feel at impact.

On-Court Performance

High Maneuverability:

  •  At only 280g, this racquet is exceptionally easy to swing. It excels at the net for quick volleys and helps players with slower swing speeds generate the head speed necessary for spin.

Forgiveness:

  • The 100 sq in head combined with the thick 26mm beam creates a generous sweet spot and plenty of "free power," meaning you don't have to swing perfectly to get depth on your shots.

Spin-Friendly:

  • Despite being lighter, it retains the open 16x19 string pattern of the heavier models, ensuring that players can still hit the high-arching, dipping groundstrokes that the Extreme series is known for.

Best For:

  • Developing players moving up to their first performance frame, or senior players who want a "spin machine" that is easy on the arm and shoulder.
