The Dunlop Pro (DYD) is the official ball of the World Squash Federation (WSF), the Professional Squash Association (PSA), and the Women’s International Squash Players Association (WISPA). This 3-Ball Tube is the standard retail unit for the most widely used squash ball in the world.

  1. The Global Standard: This is the exact ball used in all professional international competitions. It is designed for elite players who can strike the ball with enough power and consistency to maintain its internal temperature.
  2. Thermal Performance: Unlike beginner balls, the Pro ball is "dead" when cold. It must be hit hard and consistently for several minutes to warm up. Once hot, it provides a consistent, low bounce that rewards precision and fitness.
  3. Durability and Grip: Constructed from high-quality elastic polymers, the surface is designed to provide maximum "bite" on the court walls and floor, allowing for advanced drop shots and "nicks."
  4. The "Slow" Game: Because it has the lowest hang-time of any squash ball, it forces players to move faster and react more quickly, as the ball does not stay in the air long.
  5. The Warm-Up: Expect to spend at least 5 minutes of vigorous hitting to get this ball to its optimal playing temperature. If the ball feels heavy or doesn't bounce, it isn't warm enough yet.
  6. When to Replace: You should replace the ball from your tube once the surface becomes shiny or smooth. A "slick" ball loses its grip on the strings and the wall, making it unpredictable and difficult to control.
  7. Skill Level: While it is the most famous ball, it is strictly recommended for Advanced and Professional players. Intermediate players may find that the ball "dies" during long rallies if they aren't hitting it with enough force.
