The Dunlop Mini Squash Balls (3-Pack) is a set of specialized, oversized squash balls designed for children as part of the Dunlop Mini Squash development program. Unlike adult balls, which are classified by "dots," these are categorized by "Stages" and colors to help junior players build coordination and confidence.
The "Fun" Ball (Red)
Designed for the absolute youngest players (typically ages 5–7), this is the starting point of the program.
- Size: Significanty larger than a standard ball (approx. 60mm diameter).
- Material: Often made of a foam or very soft rubber compound.
- Performance: It has the highest bounce in the entire Dunlop range and requires no warm-up. Its large size makes it much easier for small children to track and hit.
The "Play" Ball (Orange)
This ball is for developing juniors (typically ages 7–10) who have mastered the basics of hitting and moving.
- Size: Medium-sized (approx. 50mm diameter), sitting between the "Fun" ball and a standard ball.
- Performance: Offers a medium-high bounce. It is designed to be slightly "slower" than the red ball to help children refine their swing technique and start playing longer rallies.
Why a 3-Pack?
- Portability: The 3-pack usually comes in a small sleeve or tube, making it easy to fit into a junior racquet bag.
- Durability: While these balls are very durable, junior players frequently lose balls under court heaters or in storage areas. Having three ensures a backup is always ready.
- Training Drills: Coaches often prefer the 3-pack for simple "multiball" drills where the child can hit several shots in a row without having to retrieve the ball immediately.
