The Babolat Pure Strike 100 Gen4 (2024 model) is designed as the most "forgiving" and accessible model in the Pure Strike line. It balances the surgical precision the series is known for with a larger sweet spot and more power than the 97 or 98 sq. in. versions.
Core Technologies
- NF²-Tech (Natural Flax Filtration): Babolat integrated natural flax fibers into the handle and at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions in the frame. This specifically targets harsh vibrations, providing a more "muted" and comfortable feel at impact compared to the stiffer previous generations.
- FSI Control (Frame String Interaction): This technology combines a slightly tighter string pattern (for more control) with the Woofer System, which increases the contact time between the ball and the strings for better feel and depth control.
- Control Frame Technology: A hybrid frame shape that combines the stability of a square beam with the aerodynamic speed of an elliptical beam
Performance Profile
- Control vs. Power: While the Pure Strike is Babolat’s "Control" pillar (sitting between the powerful Pure Drive and the spin-heavy Pure Aero), the 100 model offers a noticeable boost in "free power" and a higher launch angle than the Pure Strike 98.
- Maneuverability: At 300g with a 7-point head-light balance, it is very easy to accelerate through the air, making it excellent for quick reaction volleys and defensive scrambles.
- The 16x20 Option: New for this generation, Babolat introduced a 16x20 version of the 100. It is slightly heavier (305g) and offers a denser string bed for players who want the 100 sq. in. head size but need more directional control and a lower trajectory.
Ideal Player
- This racket is best suited for intermediate to advanced aggressive counter-punchers or all-court players who want the precision of a control frame but need a larger 100 in² head to help with off-center hits and depth.
